For an arson charge involving an inhabited dwelling, an individual could face 3 to 8 years in prison and 2 to 6 years for an uninhabited structure or forest land. For a second, third, fourth and so on arson conviction, an additional 3 to 5 years could be added on to the sentence. When a peace officer or firefighter is injured in the arson, an additional 3 to 5 years may be added on to the sentence.
