NFL Player Arrested for DUI in Colorado

Another professional athlete was arrested last week for driving under the influence. Knowshon Moreno, a running back for the Broncos, now faces criminal charges stemming from his DUI arrest. While his team issued a memo acknowledging the arrest, it is uncertain whether he will receive any punishments from the NFL. Now that the football season is over, he may just face criminal punishment if convicted.

According to the police report, Moreno was driving his luxury car well above the speed limit when police officers in Denver, Colorado pulled him over. The officers quickly determined that Moreno was under the influence of alcohol. After failing a breathalyzer and field sobriety test, he was brought to a detoxification center. In addition to driving under the influence, he was charged with careless driving, and failing to have insurance.
