Former Miss USA Pleads No Contest to DUI

One woman who came to fame last year is back in the media. However, the recent coverage that Rima Fakih is getting is negative as the former Miss USA pleaded no contest to a charge of DUI in the state of Michigan last week. According to the police report, Fakih was pulled over last December on suspicion of driving under the influence. Although she claims to have not been drinking the night of her arrest, the officers that pulled her over conducted two breathalyzer tests, both of which showed her to have a blood alcohol level nearly twice the legal limit.

When she went before a judge last week, Fakih entered a plea of no contest to driving while visibly impaired. Her attorney believes that she will be given probation which she will be allowed to serve in California. Since she is pursuing a career in the entertainment industry, this will allow her to continue searching for work while completing the terms of her sentence. If you have been arrested for DUI, you may be facing tough DUI penalties, even if you are a first time offender. For this reason, you'll want to hire an Orange County DUI attorney as soon as possible by contacting the Law Offices of Virginia L. Landry.
