Police Still Questioning DUI Accident

An accident in Redding, California still has police questioning drivers and eyewitnesses to determine a cause.

According to witness testimony, a 28-year-old man driving a SUV northbound started to drift across lanes. He struck one vehicle attempting to make a westbound turn, which caused that vehicle to collide with yet a third car. In total, three vehicles were involved in the accident and all were reported to have sustained severe damage.

As a result of the possible DUI accident, the northbound lanes of the highway were shut for nearly two hours. While the driver who caused the accident was not injured, his two passengers, ages 24 and 45, were brought to local hospitals with minor injuries. The drivers and passengers of the other vehicles were also treated for minor injuries.

When officers arrived on the scene, they quickly determined that the driver was under the influence of drugs. He was arrested and then later transported to a local jail.
