A man had to be rescued from his own car after causing the DUI accident in the first place.
According to the California Highway Patrol, 61-year-old Larry K. Patrick was under the influence when he was driving along Whitmore Road. Responding officers found his Chevy Silverado upside-down in a ditch at 26170 Whitmore Road around 10:50 p.m.
Patrick was cut out from his vehicle and transported to Mercy Medical Center, where he was treated for multiple lacerations and a broken neck.
He has been charged on suspicion of driving under the influence; the CHP could add more charges after examining the scene of the DUI accident.
