Hines Ward Suspected of DUI

Fans of Hines Ward were saddened to learn this week that the Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver found himself behind bars.

According to the DeKalb County police department, the football player was pulled over outside of Atlanta for suspicious driving patterns. When officers spoke with Hines, they soon determined that he was under the influence of alcohol.

After administering standard field sobriety tests, Hines was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and transported to the DeKalb County jail. He was released several hours later on $1,300 bail.

The "Dancing with the Stars" champion supposedly cooperated with the police fully, answering all their questions truthfully. According to his lawyer, Andrew Ree, Hines should have no trouble fighting the charges. Ree added that, "From our preliminary investigation we can tell you that we are confident that the facts will show that Hines was NOT impaired by alcohol while driving."
