While most people associate DUI accidents with alcohol that is not always the case. Investigators in one California County were called to the scene of an accident where the suspect was charged with
DUI of drugs for being high on marijuana.
According to the official police documents, the 35-year-old suspect was driving on a local road when he crashed into another vehicle. The second vehicle was carrying a family heading to a popular vacation spot in the area when the car careened into a light pole, killing the driver and her son. When officers arrived on the scene, they quickly determined that the first driver was under the influence of something, which turned out to be cannabis.
The mother lost her life at the scene of the crime while her 16-year-old son was brought to a nearby hospital only to lose his life several hours later.
