Drunk Drivers Leads Police on Chase and Cause Pileup

An alleged drunken driver led police in Los Angeles on a vehicular chase that ended in a multiple car pileup. Police chased the suspect to the Northridge area of Los Angeles where he slammed into two stopped cars on Nordhoff Street; one of those vehicles was propelled forward into a third.

Mike Oppelt of the Los Angeles Police Department reported that the suspect was taken to the hospital in critical condition. A husband and wife in one of the cars suffered neck and back injuries while five more people were also injured. At this time the police believe that the suspect was under the influence of drugs.
