Justin Bieber's Arresting Officer Brought into Question

According to multiple news sources, Justin Bieber's arresting officer may not be reliable. In fact, some reports indicated that Bieber's legal counsel suspects that the officer fudged the police report. At the time of his arrest, Bieber was driving a yellow Lamborghini owned by an exotic car rental company in Miami, Florida.

The police report indicated that Bieber was drag racing between 55 mph and 60 mph in a residential zone; the car's GPS indicated that the vehicle did not exceed 27 mph.

After a brief investigation, media sources allegedly discovered Miami Beach Police Department internal affairs documents that accused Bieber's arresting officer of misconduct. In fact, Miami Beach PD questioned the officer's behavior 15 times over the course of 11 years.

Between 2001 and 2012, the officer allegedly failed to appear at court hearings a total of five times, leading to several write-ups and verbal warnings.

Bieber's legal team could claim that the officer failed to show up to avoid lying under oath, which can lead to serious legal charges. Sources are yet to reveal evidence to support this claim.

The officer's record of misbehavior doesn't stop there, though. In 2006, the Miami PD claims that he committed three violations:

  1. Off duty / secondary employment
  2. Unlawful compensation
  3. Courtesy and respect

He was accused of similar behavior in 2007 when he allegedly used offensive language and conduct. In 2011, his superiors wrote him up for sleeping on the job. He was exonerated by internal affairs for seven of the other cases. Although these claims are not directly related to Justin Bieber's DUI arrest, they could leave his defense attorneys with ammunition to question the credibility of the arresting officer.
