Why do they call Virginia the DUI Queen?

So why do they call me the DUI queen? Because I am good at what I do, and I know how to handle these cases. Many years ago when I started my own office in 1989 there wasn't really a specialty area. In 1990, the California Laws changed dramatically. At that time the courts were stripped of their ability to deal with the department of motor vehicles and I saw that as an opportunity to help people that were affected when they were arrested for driving under the influence, and over those years I developed a practice that is primarily dedicated to driving under the influence, whether it's alcohol or drugs, we can help you in both.

As the queen, other attorneys look to me to help them when they have tough issues. They need a sounding board and at seminars, I train other attorneys how to handle these cases. So from that perspective, it's a catchy phrase that over time maybe has stuck. But as the DUI queen, I'm comfortable with what I do and I know that if there is some problem with the alcohol aspect, the drug aspect, field sobriety tests, cedral noncompliance, the queen with help you out of your problem.
