Jason 'Mayhem' Miller Arrested for DUI in Irvine

IRVINE, Calif. – On Super Bowl Sunday, Jason “Mayhem” Miller, an MMA fighter who’s had several run-ins with the law, was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving in Orange County.

In the early morning hours of Sunday, Feb. 7, Irvine police received a tip about an intoxicated driver in a Subaru sedan. The report led the police to Miller, 35, who was pulled over at Spectrum and Enterprise at about 1:30 a.m.

According to Irvine PD, Miller agreed to a field sobriety test, which he failed. He was arrested on the spot on suspicion of DUI. He was taken to Orange County Jail and booked for refusing to submit to a chemical test and DUI.

Miller is Fired From UFC

Miller’s last fight was on May 26, 2012 when he was defeated by CB Dollaway. In a very public announcement on Twitter, Miller said that if he lost that fight, that he planned on retiring.

A day after he lost, Dana White (president of the UFC) decided to publicly fire him, citing Miller’s “backstage antics” as one of the reasons for letting him go.

Miller’s next fight will be in Italy on May 21 at the Venator FC event.

Miller started training for fighting at 16-years-old after being challenged by a friend who was considerably smaller than he was. The smaller friend won, eventually getting Miller into a triangle choke. That’s when he decided to learn martial arts and compete in the sport.

Miller was also the host of an MTV reality show called “Bully Breakdown,” where bullies fight against trained mixed martial artists.

In October 2014 SWAT officers arrested Miller at his home in Mission Viejo, California. During the standoff, he was tweeting live for several hours from inside until officers finally broke down his door and arrested him.

Within hours of Miller’s Super Bowl Sunday arrest, he tweeted in reaction to one of the commercials that aired during the game saying, “As someone who has successfully outrun the cops, I would advise against a Prius.”
