In late August, we reported that the Garden Grove Police Department was
to receive $259K from the state of California to beef up its DUI enforcement
efforts, and the department hasn’t been wasting any time.
OC Weekly, Garden Grove Police Department has been keeping its promise. The department
has been holding DUI checkpoints and extra saturation patrols, which are
slated to continue through Labor Day weekend.
The beefed up DUI enforcement efforts come on the heels of a case where
a suspected drunk driver thrust himself right in front of Officer Jared
Doyle by means of a head-on collision. The incident occurred in the early
morning hours of Aug. 23, which sent both men to UC Irvine Medical Center
