Justin Bieber, a 19-year-old Canadian pop singer, was arrested last week for DUI, drag racing, and diving with an expired driver's license in Miami, Florida. On Thursday, the Miami Mill School of Medicine revealed Bieber's toxicology report, which indicated that he had pot, pills, and alcohol in his system at the time of his arrest.
Additionally, police allege that Bieber admitted to consuming drugs and alcohol before he drove.
The test results leaked only a day after Bieber decided to plead "not guilty" to the DUI charges. While this might seem irrational (considering his toxicology report and alleged confession), the star's plea makes more sense than you might assume.
Justin Bieber Pleads "Not Guilty" to DUI Allegations
Law enforcement pulled Bieber over for speeding. According to police reports, he was driving a yellow Lamborghini between 55 and 60mph in a 30mph zone. The car was owned by an exotic car rental company in Miami and fitted with a GPS device.
According to the company, Bieber did not exceed 55 mph before his arrest.
Police reports allege that Bieber admitted to drinking beer shortly before the arrest; however, his Breathalyzer tests indicated that he was driving under the legal limit. In all fifty states, it is unlawful to drive with a blood alcohol level of .08% or more. In Florida, drivers under the age of 21 cannot operate a motor vehicle with a BAC that exceeds .02%.
Bieber took two Breathalyzer tests, which registered his blood alcohol level at .014% and .011%. Both of these results are under the legal limit.
