Baseball Player Gets Probation for DUI

It seems that athletes are often getting themselves into trouble with the law. One famous baseball player was sentenced to one year probation for multiple charges.

According to the police report, the 28-year-old athlete was arrested last February on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI). Police witnessed him weaving across the roadway but when the asked him to submit to a field sobriety test, he refused. As with any refusal for compliance, he was arrested immediately and had his driving privileges suspended.

This week he pleaded no contest to the charge of DUI. In exchange for his plea of no contest the additional charges of having an open container in his vehicle and resisting arrest were dropped. In addition to the year of probation he will not be able to drive for another six months and he will have to attend driving school. If he does not comply with these DUI penalties then he could be sent to jail.

Were you recently stopped by police for DUI? If you were arrested, now is the time to contact the Law Offices of Virginia L. Landry so you can receive help and advice from an Orange County DUI attorney.
