Young Man Crashes into Officer While DUI

A young man is in serious trouble after causing a DUI accident that involved a police officer.

The 23-year-old man was driving east on a local avenue when he lost control of his vehicle. He ran into an unmarked police car and then a sign before winding up in the center median. Fellow officers responded immediately to the call and found that the police sergeant had received minor injuries. He was quickly transported to an area hospital, but later released. At the time of the collision, the officer was conducting regular patrols of the area.
