Juvenile Faces Charges for Distributing Alcohol

If 13 years old sounds too young to be drinking alcohol - how about 9 years old? That was the case in one county last week when a teenager was arrested for providing alcohol to a 13-year-old girl and a 9-year-old boy.

When officers arrived at the house party last Saturday, they found several juveniles drinking alcohol. After speaking with the partygoers, they learned that the young boy had brought the supplies to the party and even encouraged a 16-year-old girl, who is mentally handicapped, to drink some. The officers learned that the young boy had taken a bottle of alcohol from his parents' liquor cabinet, mixed it with a sports energy drink, and then started distributing it.

As a result, the boy was arrested and charged with two counts of furnishing alcohol to an underage person and illegal possession of alcohol.
