DUI Leads to Multi-Vehicle Collision

Not only did a young man cause a multiple-vehicle accident last week in California, but he injured three people as well, including a police officer.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the 28-year-old man was driving his truck on a local highway at high speeds when he started to lose control of the vehicle. He drifted into another lane, sideswiped a pickup truck, and then almost hit another vehicle in the same lane. That vehicle, driven by a 48-year-old woman, was able to swerve away from his truck, but crashed into another car in the process.

The young man who caused the accident was treated at a hospital and then released into police custody. He was eventually charged with DUI as well as possession of drug paraphernalia. Further charges regarding the DUI accident are likely to follow say police officers on the case.
