Drunk Driver Hits Occupied Parked Car

One man might have gotten away with crashing into a parked car if it had been unoccupied.

The 36-year-old suspect was driving last week in California when he steered off the highway and directly into a parked vehicle. Standing outside the vehicle was a 27-year-old woman who was waiting for help with her car. He not only struck her car but her as well, causing her to break a leg and sustain possible head injuries.

He stayed until police and emergency medical personnel arrived on the scene. The young woman was airlifted to a nearby hotel and he was booked on suspicion of DUI.

There were three more people inside the parked vehicle but nobody else sustained serious injuries.
