DUI Instructor Falsified Records

In Frankfort, Kentucky, news sources say that a state instructor has been charged with falsifying public records, which is a white collar offense. Police report that the instructor worked for the state's alcohol offenders program and was responsible for working with and educating DUI offenders.

This week, a jury convicted the 39-year-old defendant on not one but three counts of tampering with public records. According to a representative with the Attorney General's Office, the instructor had created false entries in DUI completion forms on several occasions.

The defendant was a certified DUI assessor as well as a certified DUI instructor. He is expected to appear in court for sentencing on December 2, 2011. The charges filed against him were all Class D felonies so he is facing a serious sentence of up to five years in jail.
