Loud Music Leads to DUI Arrest

Saturday nights are always busy for California Highway Patrol officers who are busy catching DUI drivers like Darius Jamal Brown.

Last weekend Brown, 20, was playing his car stereo too loudly around the USCS campus, providing a reason for officers to pull him over. When they did, however, they soon realized that this had turned into a DUI arrest. After conducting field sobriety tests, and discovering a billy club in his vehicle, officers took Brown into custody. He did not go without a fight, however, as he attempted to struggle with officers in an attempt to resist arrest.

Brown has now been charged with driving under the influence, felony possession of a dangerous weapon and resisting arrest. He was taken to the Santa Cruz County Jail but released shortly after on $5,000 bond.
