Young Man Arrested for Causing DUI Accident

After driving the wrong way on Highway 101 and injuring himself and two others, a young man has been arrested for the DUI accident he caused.

Alfonson Robles-Contreras, 26, was arrested by the California Highway Patrol was arrested for driving without a license and suspicion of felony DUI.  He was later released to a local hospital to be treated for facial fractures and a broken leg at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. This was after several calls were made to the CHP about a car driving recklessly near Casitas Pass Road. Robles-Contreras was found to be responsible for causing a four to five car accident just north of Bailard Avenue.

In the end Tobles-Contreras had to be extracted from his own vehicle by members of the Carpinteria Fire Department. Luckily his passenger only sustained minor cuts and scrapes from the accident.  Yet another driver involved in the accident sustained a broken hip and leg and was taken to the same hospital for treatment.
