Teen Death May Have Been Alcohol Related

A teen driver killed last week in Sacramento may be the result of a DUI accident.

The victim, a 19-year-old male, was driving a 2000 Chevy Blazer northbound on Walerga Road when they collided with a 2004 Toyota Corolla going westbound on North Loop. Both the 19-year-old and his passenger were ejected from the vehicle and taken to Mercy San Juan. The other driver suffered only moderate injuries that were treated at Sutter Roseville.

At this time investigators with the California Highway Patrol are looking into which car had the right of way but they do not yet know if alcohol had been consumed by the teenage driver. They are also not releasing his identity to the press just yet.
