Defendant Arrested Twice in Drunk Driving Case

A young man was already facing serious charges for causing a car accident when he was arrested again for the same incident. After the 23-year-old man struck the vehicle of the victim head-on, the 65-year-old male driver was sent to a local hospital.

Officers charged the young man with driving under the influence causing serious bodily injury and he was released on bail. A few days later, the victim died, prompting officers to arrest the man once again. This time, he was charged with motor vehicular homicide which is a Class 3 felony in the state. He was released once again, this time on $25,000 bond.

When officers arrived on the scene of the accident, it was clear that the young man had been intoxicated. He later admitted to having had several drinks with friends earlier in the day. The arresting officers did a breath analysis and determined that his BAC was .301, well above the legal limit.
