Star Avoids Jail Time for DUI

Another star avoids jail time for a DUI charge, even though she had three times the legal blood-alcohol limit at the time of her arrest.

The star of a well-known TV show was arrested in January in California after officers noticed her erratic driving behavior. She was given the standard field sobriety tests and shocked officers when she blew such a high BAC content. The star was booked and charged with driving with blood-alcohol content greater than 0.08 and driving under the influence.

After striking a deal with prosecutors, the star pleaded no contest to the first charge in exchange for having the second charge dropped. The judge gave her three years probation. The actress could have spent up to six months behind bars had she not accepted the plea bargain.
