Road Closed after DUI Accident
A small country road was shut down for several hours after a drunk driver drove into another vehicle, causing a serious DUI accident.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the 24-year-old male victim was driving a Jeep on a local highway when he was hit from behind by another vehicle. The driver of the second vehicle, a 25-year-old female, reportedly backed up and hit the Jeep again after a witness attempted to speak with her. When officers finally arrived on the scene it was clear to them that the suspect was very intoxicated.
After conducting the standard field sobriety tests and a breath test, officers had enough evidence to arrest her on suspicion of felony driving under the influence. While she was lucky enough to not receive any injuries, the two passengers in the Jeep were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
