Man Sentenced to 3 Years for DUI Accident
There are countless reasons to not drink and drive, several of which one young man learned the hard way after causing a major DUI accident.
Officers from the California Highway Patrol were called to the scene of a multi-vehicle accident that was allegedly caused by a drunk male. As a result of his impaired driving, several people were injured, some of whom had to be extricated from their vehicles and then transported to local hospitals.
The roadway where the accident occurred was closed for three hours as officers and emergency road crews cleaned up the wreckage and examined the scene.
The young man responsible for the accident now faces a variety of DUI penalties. Since his arrest, he has since been charged with
felony DUI causing serious bodily injury and was later convicted. As a result, he was sentenced to three years behind bars.
