Man Gets 13 Year Sentence for DUI Accident

Both sides of the courtroom were in tears when the verdict was read for Scott A. Rossow of Palos Heights.

The judge sentenced Rossow to 13 years in prison for causing the DUI accident that killed his friend and brother. Relatives for both victims took to the stand to tell the jury and Judge Edward Burmila about their pain and suffering in losing their loved ones.

Back in December 2006 Rossow got behind the wheel of his Corvette after drinking at a bar in the south suburbs, causing the accident that took the life of his two good friends. Police police that Rossow had been driving at least 100 miles per hour when he lost control of the car and hit a tree near Town Line and Francis roads. All three men were ejected from the vehicle, with only Rossow surviving the crash.  However, he was in a coma for twenty days and suffered multiple injuries, including a severed aorta.
