Drunk Driver of Van Kills One and Injures Eight
In Davis, California, that is reported that the driver of a speeding SUV lost control and overturned in a ditch off and on even Yolo County road this past Saturday. The crash led to the death of a 19-year-old girl in a people being injured.
The girl, who was most likely not wearing a seatbelt, was thrown from the SUV when the 19-year-old male driver traveled off of the road at 2:30 AM said the California Highway Patrol. The victim has since been identified as Crystal Marie Rodriguez and an autopsy has been scheduled.
According to CHP Officer James Hanna, nine people were riding inside of the SUV and victims had to be flown to a local hospital, save for the driver Timothy Patrick Hernandez, who suffered minor injuries. Police say that Hernandez was booked on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter as well as DUI causing injuries.
