Agricultural Commisioner Charghed with DUI

In Santa Rosa, an agricultural commissioner for Sonoma County is facing DUI charges in connection with her arrest which occurred earlier this month near Garton.

According to prosecutors, 53-year-old Cathy Neville was charged on Monday with two counts of misdemeanor driving under the influence.  Prosecutors declined by California Highway Patrol's request for an additional charge of resisting arrest.

At the time of her arrest, officers say Neville's blood alcohol level was .11 percent, which is above the state's legal limit of .08 percent.  Neville was stopped and pulled over by police on September 10th while driving on Highway 116.

The CHP officer that administered Neville's field sobriety test said that she began walking away and said that she had to use the restroom.  The officer then took Neville to the ground, which is why prosecutors were asked to charge her with resisting arrest.
