Two Passengers Die during DUI Accident

In Salinas, a man was released from police custody after posting $30,000 bail.  He was held by police because he was accused of driving under the influence after he crashed his truck into a tree and killed two of his passengers.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Jorge Armando Rubio was placed under arrest on suspicion of felony driving under the influence at around 7:45 PM on Sunday. The fatal DUI accident took place on Crazy Horse Canyon Road.

The Coroner's Unit has reported that two passengers were killed and they were 39-year-old Alfonso Martinez and 37-year-old Jesus Hernandez.  Both were pronounced dead at the scene of the collision and Rubio only sustained minor injuries.

At this time, police plan to continue investigations and say that additional criminal charges may be filed against Rubio.
