Owner of Palms Resort Charged with DUI

In Las Vegas, the owner of Palms Resort, George Maloof, had been charged with five misdemeanors related to his DUI arrest last month.

In October, 46 year old Maloof was placed under arrest for suspicion of drunk driving.  His arrest occurred near his residence in Spanish Trail Country Club.  It was worded that he was driving home from a friend's wedding about six miles away when he was stopped by police.

In the criminal complaint, it is that Maloof was cited for operating a vehicle while impaired, driving while a valid license, driving with proof of insurance, speeding, and failing to properly make a left turn.  At the time of his DUI arrest, Maloof's blood alcohol level was 0.086 percent, which is slightly over the state's legal limit of 0.08 percent.

He is expected to appear in court on January 10, 2011 to answer to his criminal charges.
