Olympian Steve Holcomb Was Arrested for DUI Before the Games
This week in Salt Lake City, police reported that the pilot of the U.S. Olympic gold medal-winning four-man bobsled team was placed under arrest for DUI. The arrest allegedly took place in Park City in 2009 just months before the Vancouver Games where to begin.
Allegedly, on October 22nd, Summit County sheriff's Det. Ron Bridge says Steve Holcomb was arrested while police conducted a traffic stop. On Sunday, Bridge confirmed the DUI arrest with the Associated Press.
He said that Holcomb was stopped by an officer for a traffic violation. Holcomb failed a field to sobriety test and was later arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. He was then given a breath alcohol test at a local jail which registered .19%. That is twice the state's legal limit.
