Super Bowl Sunday Nets 42 DUI Arrests

Despite countless media warnings about the increased DUI enforcement efforts planned for Super Bowl weekend, 42 drivers were arrested Sunday on suspicion of driving under the influence.

The county-wide enforcement efforts were carried out by the "Avoid 38" task force, made up of officers from the Orange County Sheriff's Department, the California Highway Patrol, and several local police departments.

The DUI task force had roving patrols throughout the county.

Super Bowl Sunday - A Popular Day to Drink & Drive

Super Bowl Sunday is no stranger to drunk driving activity, which is why law enforcement agencies crack down hard on this particular day. Last year 11 people in Orange County were killed in DUI accidents and 160 people were injured, which is three times and two times the California state average respectively.

If you were arrested on suspicion of DUI on Super Bowl Sunday, you need to ensure your case is aggressively defended. An Orange County DUI attorney at the Law Offices of Virginia L. Landry can ensure your case is given the time and dedication it deserves, and that no stone is left unturned in defending you against the charges.
