Kings Assistant Coach Arrested for Drunk Driving

Mario Elie, assistant coach of the Sacramento Kings, was arrested on suspicion of DUI last week. Officers with the California Highway Patrol originally pulled him over early Thursday morning for a broken taillight, but after smelling alcohol in the car, decided to conduct a breath test.

The 47-year-old coach was found to have a blood-alcohol level above 0.8, the legal limit in California. He was immediately taken to Sacramento County Jail but was later released after posting bail.

At this time, Elie nor the Kings are releasing comments about the arrest. Elie is a first year coach with the team. The Kings went on later that week to beat the Washington Wizards 116-91 in Sacramento.
